My life before the accident was a routine life, I went form home to work and from work to the Gym. I went out some weekends and the rest I stayed in Barcelona.
The 10th of May my life completely changed. On my way home I was riding my motorbike when I was run over by a car. The result: broken left arm, catastrophic right foot and my entire body was bruised.
I was gettig in and out of the hospital for three years trying to save my right foot, but I was infected by a hospital bug that infected the bone too and I decided to be amputated.
A few months later, when I had my “new leg”, a friend (Kiko Caballero), invited me to try and practice snowboarding and, without thinking twice, I went and spent two days with him. When I got home, he called me to tell me that the admission test to The Snowboard National Team were about to begin and he convinced me to go. And look, I was in!!
I was competing in the World Cup only a month after joining the team, and the next season (with only having six months experience in snow) I was able to go to the Paralympic Games of Sochi, where I gained a Diploma (sixth position). This motivated me to continue training hard for the next games.
Every season is a continuous improvement to me and I am sure that this will be my year!!
